Meet Morgan Dyer

Length at current job?

13 months

What’s your position, what do you do on a daily basis?

My main goal in my position is to improve the ways customers Self-serv online. I am working in the Help & support area of the Online Service Team. My main focus at the moment is the Aura knowledge base (which is part of the O2 Ask app); improving its content and capabilities and providing our customers with the best online service.

Why O2? What made you apply?

O2 is a well-known brand who has millions of customers, this makes it easier to be able to relate to customers as you can understand what they want. Being able to work for O2 meant that I’d have a part to play in providing a great service for millions of O2 customers.

What makes O2 a great place to work?

The culture is amazing, everyone wants the brand to be successful which means that everyone around me is hard working and always thriving for more.

What keeps you motivated to go to work each day?

Knowing that what I do every day is being seen and used by customers and making their lives easier.

What is your proudest accomplishment on the job?

Achieving an Our stars award for the work I put into the Aura KGB project during the test period.

How have you evolved in your current job? How have you evolved as a person?

My confidence has grown before I had less of an understanding of how my role and what I do can impact our customers. Now that I know this it pushes me to work even harder and has even more of an impact.

What advice would you give someone who is seeking the same line of work?

You don’t need to have all of the answers right away. Try it, test it, learn from it and try it again. Everything that I know now about my job is what I’ve learnt since I started, I came straight from college to a role I knew nothing about, you don’t need to be an expert but you do need to be willing to learn.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy meals with friends, exercise and spending time with my family.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying?

You don’t need to have all of the answers right away. Try it, test it, learn from it and try it again. Everything that I know now about my job is what I’ve learnt since I started, I came straight from college to a role I knew nothing about, you don’t need to be an expert but you do need to be willing to learn.

What is one piece of advice you’ve been given that has stuck with you?

My first manager said to me once that ‘If you are the only person that knows/knows how to do something, that makes you an expert in your area. No matter how simple you think it might be if someone else has to ask you for the answer that makes your position important’ – I’ve always been someone that doubts my abilities & this helped me to realize that I am good at what I do and to always push myself further.
